This is the second individual I photographed the other day, and this one is a bit further along on its' molt. The yellow tufted "horns" are starting to grow, and the black feathers on the face are well on there way. A full breeding plumaged individual would be awesome but it's always fun to get transitional plumages too! I love the water envelopping the subject here...choppy waters often addd lots of interesting elements to images.
