Love the low shooting angle, light and composition, Derek.
You must have had the light coming at an angle which brought out some nice details from both the white and the dark plumage.

Lovely exposure Derek, the blacks ar every well handled and fine detail and sharpness is excellent, lovely posture and love the blue backdrop. If I were to be excessively nit picky :S3: I would suggest clone out the dark blob on the sand and the light brown smudge appearing just above the back
