Sorry for the inconvenience with the wrong post earlier... I removed the blue cast in LR$ by merely adjusting the blue saturation slider & did not sharpen the BG after resizing...:tinysmile_shy_t:
Location: Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa
Equipment: Canon 7D and 500mm F4 L lens
Settings: 1/1600s at F5.6 and ISO 1600
Processing: RAW conversion in LR4 with NR to BG, selective burning of branches and wing, resizing and sharpening in CS6
I know the shadow line on the head takes away a bit, but pretty chuffed with the image seeing it was taken with a Canon 7D at ISO 1600...

excellent light and BG, I like the take off pose too. I wish the head was slightly angled towards us. IQ is not great, details look a bit lacking, the head is a bit noisy...was this a large crop or a bit soft in RAW?

Excellent light on the wing, tail, shrub and part of the body. I wish the head was lit as well. Nice moment captured.

Great light and bg. I too wish the bird was coming toward us not away.

This is such a cool color palette! I love the pinkish red in the bill, feet, and twigs. I also like profile shots. I'm not sure what color this bird really is but blue pastel works for me. The only thing that bugs me is the outside wing sticking out of his chest. I know it's a wing but took me a minute to process.

Very nice Rudi! I agree with the small improvements the others have mentioned but, with mentioned, I would absolutely love to have this image my book! Great with 7d and noise control at iso. You have handled processing well the details, sharpness and exposure look good! Nice capture!
