Dreaming of Flight - Burrowing Owls - OPINIONS PLEASE

I almost deleted this image that was taken 3 years ago but then realized that it had a unique, dreamy quality. It reminded me of this thread which was recently posted and received very little attention: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...rops-apiaster).

I was concentrating on photographing this Burrowing Owl on a perch using a bright bush off in the distance as my BG. As I clicked the shutter, another owl flew by and this is the result.

the first thing i got to my mind was, this is just like when a Hollywood hero is getting interviewed with his own image on the big screen in the backdrop
i simply love the settings and light

Incredible! Love it --perfect head turn and direction of the eyes to fit with the BG.

Maybe a little less contrast would fit well with the dreamy idea?

The more you look at it the better it gets. This is the kind of image, you got here, Marina.
It is hard to explain but I suspect that some images are more for the soul and you need time to
get it absorbed. Great work.

Not sure just yet... I like it the more I look at it. The difference between this one and the one you noted is that the oof is behind the sharp bird and that appeals to me more than the oposite.. I'll come back later

I think without the thread title I would suggest the oof bird distracts a bit much, but in context of the title it works well to convey a story/mood

OK Im back, I think because the front bird is looking in the direction opposite of the oof flying bird it somehow seems to work for me as well as the fact that you can still make out the rear bird and you didnt clip it. The light is just gorgeous as is the detail.

I like it as titled. Nice vision on this one and the mood and look to the main subject is pretty dreamy. It would look better IMO if the BG owl were smaller though but I dont think you were trying it set up this shot. Nice creativity.
