Neat bird, looks like a cross between a Purple Martin and a Hummingbird! Sharp eye and feet. I'm OK with the amount of wingblur. I wish you had been more parallel to the flower and subject, and if you have more room at left that would be good (instead of having the flower base skimming the edge).

Pretty shot. Agree with Daniel's points. Perhaps a better angle compared to the sun would illuminate the bird better.

I have a similar image and loved it...you got it in better light and you have some excellent detals on bird...I love the wing blur and that bell shaped flower agree with Daniel regarding some more space on left if you have it. TFS

I think it is great that you captured the iridescent purple color of this bird. It can look black so easily. I also like the wing blur as it adds the necessary motion for the bird to hover in front of the flower. Do agree the flower is a bit awkward being sharply cut off at the edge. I suspect you were focused on the flower waiting for the bird to arrive and wanted to be sure the entire bird was in the frame.
