This is what I imagine I look like when I have lots of thoughts spinning around in my head, over and over. I think of this image as my inner Picasso :eek3:.
The black & white background is a close-up of aspen trunks seriously tweaked in Flexify. Flexify (from Flaming Pears) used to be free but I now see they are charging for this plug-in. As I experimented in flexify I created large holes in my aspen design. I filled these holes with a mini-world that I created last year. This base image is an Army Corps of Engineers dam across the Arkansas River lit up at night. The mini-world application made it look somewhat like a Ferris Wheel. I further refined it with Fractalius. Then I fit this image into the holes I created.

Nancy, that's spectacular! I like it a lot and think I have seen something similar in my head too! Really creative work to find the images that would work together so well. The round bits remind me of sections of some kind of fruit or vegetable. Very interesting vision.

You only have 4 thoughts spinning around your head when you can't sleep?!! I have about 100! :-)
An extremely creative image. I agree with everything Kerry wrote above. Marvelous colors. Excellent use of different applications. Well done.

Nice image and application, Nancy.
Like the colors and patters created. Understand the theme as well, as you will see above! :w3
Nicely done!

Nancy,
Greetings. The red-white contrast is great. I suspect the original (not size limited) looks even better. I wonder what a somewhat broad darkening vignette would look like (slight tunnel effect) or top & bottom gradient darkening. Very cool as is, just a thought.
Cheers,
-Michael-

Thanks all! Michael, you have given me some ideas to play with. Anita, 4 thoughts?! LOL! Kerry, you're right about the vegetable thing. I can see cucumbers like some one getting a spa treatment! Mark, I'll check out your next image.

Nancy, I LOVE this! I love the organic look to the background - I see the aspens but also see surfaces of rock and I especially like the areas that fade into haziness. The round bits (thoughts) remind me of cross-sections of fruit and I really like that one of them is a "half-thought":S3:

Cheryl, thank you! I also like the "half-thought".
