You take a photo of a fungi growth on a tree and marry it with an eagle image and viola, instant art....lolol
I had taken this image of an interesting moss covered growth on a tree, while in Algonquin Park. It was a 9 image HDR, trying to draw out all the colors. The problem was the underside of the growth
was pure white without any detail. I tried fitting an owl image into the area but didn't work out as planned. So I tried a Bald Eagle head. I think the resulting image works, I especially like the area above the eagles head.
Remember in OOTB is all about experimentation, some things work and some don't.
I have been absent lately, lots of birding trips, its that time of year. I am off in search of Chickens and Grouse in Colorado on the 14th, then Alaska for 3 weeks in June.
Off to bed now for some sleep before my shift starts, back later to comment on images below. Ciao for now.

Absolutely wonderful!! Great imagination!
A little more contrast on the eye and beak? And more detail in the whites should be possible for what looks like great IQ.

Paul, a great combination! It almost looks like a turtle head emerging from its shell:S3:

Very clever, Paul. I agree with Diane about the contrast and detail in the whites. The background is nicely out of focus, and the orange border is a nice addition.

Hey Paul,
Very creative and I really like the way you got the eagle head to come out in a very good location with a nice blend of the tree and head. I do agree on the whites.....so if you can tweak that.....this will be super!

Great imagination, Paul! Amazing how naturally the eagle's head fits into the tree. I love the colors and details. Well done.
