I like the sharpness, hairdo, catch, calm water and circular ripple. Interesting composition. Well done Mike.
Very nice . . . and I really like the positioning, the way you handle the ripples in the water.
Great picture, nice deep shooting position and great action.
Great pose. Nice low angle and environment.
I think that the comp could be strengthened by more room on the bottom and less on the left. I understand not wanting to cut up the circle, but all that space doesn't add much to my eye. Nice bird, and the prey item is a bonus.
Love your title Mike. Interesting comp...Grace's suggestion is a good alternative but I am kinda liking this too after looking at it for a while.
Terrific image and catch, Mike. I am with Grace and Daniel on the comp not really giving your image the kick it could have. Even as a pano your circle is cut. I would give it space on the right and bottom and crop from the left. This will really make the behavior and the catch really stand out.
Thanks Grace, Daniel and Marina, for your helpful feedback on the composition. Here's how it looks with a more traditional crop. I think I like this a little better. If I had taken the shot a second or two earlier, so I could have gotten the entire circle, I would love the wider crop.
I like the RP the best. The heron is larger in the frame & the catch is more visible which is what the image is about. Good techs & detail with a lovely blue BG.
I like your non-traditional thinking, Mike, but in this case the repost really does pop. Nice work.
