I like the nice combination of soft colors and the subdued mountain in the background. The vertical distribution of the geese -- dense at the bottom and sparser above -- adds a lot to the image. The panorama crop works nicely with the strong horizontals. Nice work.
Spectacular!
Love it Cheryl, this place is near and dear to my heart now. I didn't reply immediately because this reminded me of something and I couldn't quite put my finger on it... It just now occurred to me that what it reminds me of is a dandelion, spreading its seeds in a gentle breeze. Wonderful!
Kerry, thanks and yes, it's near and dear to my heart now also and I've only been once. This series of blast-offs was spectacular - there was a golden eagle stirring them up (according to a biologist who was in the group). A couple of times they would blast-off and swirl around right over our heads. It was so exciting and spectacular that once Denise and I just stood there yelling "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh":S3: And I love the allusion to dandelions - it's very appropriate.
Perfect moment of capture! The geese could not be distributed more perfectly with the greatest density at the bottom, thinning as you move up and finally a few individuals flying off into the pale sky. I also like the black lines (from the wings) against the softness and blur of the white geese. It makes a subtle but very effective contrast element.
Cheryl - fantastic and a great choice to go pano. I agree with the others, the distribution of the birds is great.

Really nice blur of the geese and pano crop works well for this.
