This is an image taken from inside of the old family homestead. This is my first go at applying a texture layer. A couple of Shadowhouse textures were applied to impart an old look to the image and a sandstone texture was applied to the mud walls. C & C appreciated.
PS. I initially did not notice the line on the left side of the image. Must represent a misfit of one of the texture layers.

Gary, when I first saw this I thought it was an abandoned bar on a side road going from Bosque to Albuquerque - I'll have to dig mine out and post it. Thanks for the idea! I like the textures that you used - it fits well with the image. I might take a sliver off of the bottom. When you apply the texture you can grab the sides and pull them out away from the image so that you can pull the lines on the edges out of the frame (that might not make sense). If not, hopefully someone else will chime in with an easier to understand explanation. I hope you'll do more of these:S3:

Great image, Gary! Perfect kind of photo for textures and sepia toning. I love how the window frames part of the outside. The texture work looks great. I agree with Cheryl on taking a little off the bottom; that puts the window closer to the rule-of-thirds position.

You would never know that this was a first try at texture layers, you did a good job with them. I like how you applied the sandstone texture selectively to the walls, good thinking. I like the contrast of the very near and very far away elements of the image, very artistic.

Very nice work Gary. The textures are perfect for the image.
