This eagle was standing on the ice when another eagle approached it. He reacted to the "threat" and wiped out.

A bald eagle playing in the snow! Now you don't see an eagle rolling in the snow every day. For me the small bits of blurry snow in the foreground help add some depth to your image. Nicely done Gail.
That is an interesting image! I like the expression on the eagle's face. The fresh snow looks great! Good job on the exposure / processing. I'm thinking you could take a bit more off the top or alot off the bottom, but this is a challenging image comp-wise, lots of possibilities.

I also like the face expresson as she/he seems to be upset.
I agree with Daniel that you might want to take off from to top to move the subject out form the near centre position.
Personally I won't take from the bottom. I like the snow chunks showing there.

Great catch! I agree with Karl -- for me, I'd take some off the top (I'd loose half of the empty space there) but leave the bottom.
Interesting capture! The exposure is top-notch! The bird is nicely placed in the frame.
Great image and great exposure. I'm with Diane on taking some off the top but eave the bottom. Well done!
Great timing !.....a classic capture ...I'd take a sliver from the top and leave the bottom as is, the lumps of snow in the foreground work in well to break up the stark snow/ice, adding more depth in the image I think
very cool! we saw this behavior quite a few times too. I would tame the whites in the head

I move the eagle up in the frame to reduce the amount of space at the top and tried to get more out of the whites on the head. The whites look perfect on the tiff but when converted to JPEG seem to blow out a bit.

Hi Gail, its always great to capture something different from the norm, and they normally work out well too, as in this. I like the open beak, raised foot, together with the flying snow. I do like the detail in the snow too. I also feel your repost has turned out for the better. :w3
Super job on your repost, it makes a wonderful image even better. So fascinating to see this behavior captured, and you've done a great job of it. I really like the blobs of snow at the forefront, and the way you composed/cropped it. Perfect exposure.
Very fun and interesting shot. Looks like hes sliding into home base :) Like the crop on the re-post better and the whites look good to me too. Clear and sharp and the open mouth really makes the shot. Well done.
I like the repost, maybe just a tad more contrast to make the Eagle pop a bit more.
