Great Gray Owl in Flight

Another photo of a sequence of flight shot I took. Again, I chose the 70-200mm focal length range to shoot wider and include more of the habitat/environment. I kept this one horizontal and crop more toward top left at about 80-85% of the full frame. I'm not sure if the owl is too much on the center. The left wing of the owl could be positioned better, and I wish there's more canvas above the left wing tip, but it is what it is. The fence posts and a pile on the snow that crept up at the bottom right of the frame were cloned out. The owl was baited of course, but it didn't take the mouse.

Hi Raymond,

I like your choice of lens for this one. Very nice to include some habitat, especially since the tones match so well with the color of the feathers.

In terms of space, I agree that a bit more on top would be nice. I also think that cropping from the right and bottom some would help. To me, it looks like he is banking right (out left).

Thanks! Does that mean putting the owl more toward the top left of the frame? Yeah, I wasn't too sure about the centering of this owl, and hence put it up at BPN for some feedback. :P

Nice looking incoming pose. The Owl looks sharp an exposed well. I like the inclusion of the habitat. Yes to a little more on top. Nice shot

I too love the habitat you included here, but I'm not so fond of the placement of the owl in the frame. With a clean white sky this would be relatively easy to move it more to the left and a tad lower too if you are up to doing this type of image manipulation...

Hi Raymond, I like the intense stare from the owl, together with the raised wings. I actually like the slanting line of the BG. As the owl didnt take your bait, maybe adding some sauce next time, will help his appetite. :w3

On an afternoon shift today, so got some time to work on it this morning. Took about half an hour, mostly to make the sky as clean as possible. How about this move?

Nice as it was presented but the moving the Owl in relation to the sorrounding makes it look better, Raymond.
