Baited with fish thrown onto ice in the creek.
White spots on the wings are frozen ice.
PP : Crop, levels, increase saturation of sky a bit, DE at 2% and USM to JPEG at 0.3 pixels and 40%

Beautiful capture! Great details and exposure! Vertical framing is a good choice, but I would prefer to add a bit on the left and chop off the bottom.

what a shot - super exposure and pose excellent timing. Regarding composition, yes I am a little uneasy but I don't think it is far out, maybe just a tad lower in the frame?

As sharp as it is, I wish for just the hint of a wing blur to give it a sense of motion, feels quite static to me. Of course, maybe that was your intention. :w3

Hi Gail, a different pose from the norm - studying his catch. You have exposed the BE very well, especially the darker feathers on the wings, and overall, pops nicely from the sky BG. Comp wise, I would only add a bit to the bottom. :w3

Terrific capture, Gail. Good thing you caught him when you did; looks like he was almost finished with the meal. Great exposure, sharpness. (I'm ok with static.) Add one more vote for just the smallest slivver off the right, added to the left. Great series.
