Wasn't much happening at the spot I was at, then I saw this guy/gal from a distance headed my way. I was able to get the camera to lock on well and I got 3-4 good frames as it flew by. This is a first of this species for me.
Thanks as always for looking and for your input. Appreciated
David

excellent dynamic pose and a sweet BG. I like the eye contact. The image appears as if it had strong NR applied to plumage(?) the beak and near wing are sharp and certainly in focus but the feet and far wing appear totally OOF ...did you recover any shadows on the under wing?

Thanks Arash for the comment. I didnt do much to this image besides some levels adjusting, a little saturation boost and sharpening. I knew the DOF went away fast and was obvious with the feet being completely OOF but the head was sharp so I kept it and didnt have any shots of this species, especially in flight. I didnt do any NR on the bird but I did notice the feathers on the chest look a bit blurred. Maybe motion,DOF or focus. Still thought the pose was nice. Thanks for the help.

thanks David, maybe it's just the DOF, it's still a great pose any way.

Nice capture. These birds are not easy to get in flight.

Hi David, congrats on getting your first of this fellow. Great that you captured an open in flight shot too, and with a good full down wing position. The main focus looks like it was on the near wing. :w3

What an awesome pose. You got him with full wings down position coming towards you and with a clean BG. Head s.harp
It is sooo... easy to be an armchair critic but I wish for more DOF.
Still definitely a keeper!

Love this image and the blurred background really compliments things. Amazing how the DOF falls off so quickly on the feet but that doesn't take anything away from this wonderful image.
