Doug noticed that the Bufflehead I posted two days ago was slightlyoverexposed in the white.
I pulled out another one which was taken shortly after, where I adjusted theshutter speed to compensate for the overexposed white.
The challenge with this one was to bring out the colours on the head that I hadmostly done in PP.
I also removed the some of the red colour cast from the white areas.
(Water was not sharpened or processed)
Thanks for looking.

Karl, This one looks way better. I see plenty of detail in the whites, even the fine droplets on his feathers. The beautiful irredescence looks perfect and the blacks are nice too. I'm torn on suggesting a different crop. one one hand, I'd like to get rid of the lowest strip of white, but then I think he may be too low in the frame. Hopefully others will chime in. Elimintaing the weaker catchlight might be a consideration. Thanks for explaining in a prior post that you can't get lower here. This is a duck that I would love to have a chance at, here the are quite shy.

Karl - this is a huge improvement over the other image. Nice job on the whites and on bringing out the irridescent colors. Well done.

Karl I haven't seen the other image but this one looks pretty good. I find details on whites and nice iredescence too. I like the waves and its colour but I am not too sure about the crop.
