This is the pair that were at Bosque in November last year. I previously posted an image of one grebe only.
1DMK4, 700mm, 1/2500 @ 6.3, 400 iso. Manual Mode. The leading bird would just not give me a good head angle!
Thanks Tom

Lovely symmetry Tom, possibly a little dark on my monitor, but liking those striking red eyes
Nice symmetrical position of the two. You could go a little brighter on the birds.
Yes to brighter, I'd sharpen heads a touch more, add to the right and subtract from the bottom. All in all, a beautiful image, do wish that leading bird would have been just a bit more aware of the head angle rules. :S3:
How special to get them so close together. I wonder whether they are a pair. I was so luck in a few years ago to get a Western Grebe & Clarke's Grebe together in the same frame.
Agree they look a little dark and your image needs some CW rotation. The tips of their beaks should be forming a direct line down to the tips of their beaks on the reflections. Depending on how they look a little lighter, I might like to see their heads sharpened a tad more.
Pretty birds, light and reflexion. I would try to lighten the darks a bit.
Tom - nice double pose and good dof to get both sharp. Excellent suggestions above for taking this image to the next level.
