Eared Grebe
D90 70-200VR+2x@300 1/000 f5.6 ISO400 -1/3EV handheld
On a cold morning yesterday I found three grebes diving for food. Surprisingly they were three different species: Eared, Pied-billed and Western. I chose to post the Eared, perhaps because of its eye. I was not lucky enough to get a good image with its catch. (I was standing above it, by the way.) Small crop and adjustments . . .

They do have an amazing eye. Well exposed and pretty sharp for this combo.
The shooting angle is pretty steep, but I suspect you didn't have an option to get lower.

Lovely subject, BG, ripples in the water and a terrific eye. I would try reducing your overall exposure or brightness here b/c your blacks are looking pretty washed out. Your image also needs a CW rotation. Your eye needs to match up as closely as possible to its reflection. With a little bit of work, you have yourself a pretty nice image here.
