Hey Jim, You are cranking out some great feeder work. EXP, SH, and BKGR are all perfect. I am a sucker for traditional 3X2 proportions so I would not mind a bit off left and right sides to that end. That said the placement of the subject is very pleasing. I'd just like to see a skinnier frame.
You guys with the all the great Nuthatch photos really make me envious.
They are extremely hard to get where I live, very skittish, and don't really come to feeders much.
They live in the high forest canopies here for the most part.
This is very good, classic pose, I also think it could go more vertical.
Nice job Jim. I just spent a few hours with Roman K.shooting these guys...they are a lot of fun to shoot. I like his position. Detail and sharpness look great.
Beautiful capture! Nice subtle flash, which brings out a lot of feather details. I kind of like the framing of the shot the way it is.
Excellent detail and exp. with pleasing bg. Sweet shot.

Rachel
Superb flash work, bird looks very natural. Love your perch.
Nice classic pose, well exposed and nice and sharp. Great work, Jim.
Hi Jim, these guys seem to perch/pose at such steep angles. Good exposure on the little guy, sharp, and I also like the detail on the trunk.
Excellent pose and details captured, Jim. My favorite part is the perfect DOF rendering everything sharply and the subtle use of flash.
Wonderful image , the bird looks perfect
Nicely composed and the frame is perfectly balanced for all the elements
Well done Jim,the image is spot on.thanks.
Nice capture of this classic pose Jim.
Classic nuthatch pose. I like the comp but could also see it more vertical. Good use of flash. I've noticed on some of my images, and on a few of your recent ones, that the trunk seems just a tad oversharpened. Nobody else has commented, so it's probably just me, but I've occasionally found that if I sharpen bird and trunk together, and sharpen for the bird, that I then need to back off on the trunk.
This is a 10 of 10 in my book sir. I enjoy your clean minimalistic style!
Nice overall view of the bird. Good f-stop/distance to subject pairing, to
give plenty of dof on the bird and tree trunk. Flash work is excellent, though
as such, I think more flash info should be stated in the techs...
Thanks everyone for the kind comments and suggestions.
