Lovely action and flight image

Just beautiful. I'm really impressed that you got him in such a lovely comp, FF, without clipping a wing or tail. I rather like the tight comp, but I suppose a little added canvas would help. Great flight angle, exposure.

A really fine capture of one of our most elegant ducks. Nice angle in frame, wing position, trace of snow on bill.

Although he fits the frame nicely, I would consider adding more space all the way around.

There does seem to be a subtle yellow cast. I don't know what time of day , but assume early AM. His colors might be slightly truer with the cast neutralized.

A big congrats on this one. I guess I will have to keep working on him!

Thanks Randy I never seem to notice the off whites until someone points it out. Hope this is better. I ran him through Color Efex Pro 4.

Love the RP... although "in flight", this image invokes a feeling of serenity and even freedom. Well-balanced, good that the eye-catch is slightly "back" ... great detail on the body with feeling of movement on the wings. SWEET!

This is a wonderful shot. I was introduced to this species last week and it quickly jumped to the top of my fav list. You got a great opportunity to capture this guy, and you capitalized on it very well!

I vote for a bit more room all around, although it sure is nice to see all the detail in this one.

Gary, this is a cracking good shot. I have only seen this duck once, and it struck me as such an elegant, beautiful duck, and you've captured it so perfectly. I like the tight crop. The details, exposure, and IQ are just awesome.

Remarkable that you got such good focus up tight like this.
I would not add anything, I bet you were pretty thrilled when you saw the back of the camera after taking this one!

This is one of the best Pintail flight captures I've seen. The high key works great with it! Would probably prefer it with a little more canvas, but either way, it's a winner.

I wouldn't change one thing. A little trick with tight crops is to choose a mat color very close to your background color so that when you mat and print it (:w3), the eye is tricked into thinking you have more room. It is really an image to be proud of....I love the ice on beak and feet. Way to go, Gary.

Hi Gary, what a great flight pose with the raised wings, and you have brought out the finer detail so well. Tack sharp too. I do like the hint of ice on the bill, and agree more space all round will take this to another level. Your repost rocks.

You nailed this one pretty good gary! I love the sharpness, especially the fine barring on the flanks. Yes, I could see a bit more room all around. Repost addresses the colour cast.
