Common Redpoll

Taken through a window (I know that's supposed to be a no-no, but opening the window would have caused it to disappear) today.

D7000, 300 f/4 AF-S + 1.7TC. 1/250, f/8, ISO1250. Mild crop, levels, selective sharpening and nr in LR and PSE. I extended the canvas a tad to the right.

NIce pose, shows his red crown well. Perch is a nice scale for him,pleasant BG,

The bird is a little soft from the combination of window glass, and perhaps the NR if done on bird.

Good idea adding canvas to the right. I would crop about 1/2 of the free space off from the left.

Lovely pose and smart move to take it through the glass to avoid it flying off......houses are the most comfortable hides one can get :bg3:

A little soft, not sure why, but the lovely perch is a winner, smooth backdrop and over the shoulder look.....as for frame size, myself I thought a bit more canvas on the right and a little less on the left so as there is more room in the direction the bird is looking

Thanks for your comments, and I agree with them. Hopefully this repost is better - cropped on the left, and better selective sharpening on the bird. I suspect the presence of the window has still caused some softness on the feathering however.
