Magnolia in the Snow

I don't remember exactly what all I did with this image as I processed over 30 images last night. I know I used Topaz Adjust on the top layer and I toned down the bottom layer a good bit as to color and detail so the tree would stand out, and I masked the top image to reveal the background. I also have a version that is a little darker all around.

The reddish color is the leaves on the oak trees in the back of our lot.

Judy, that is one cold magnolia! The snow looks very wet, and has taken on an almost granular look that I find interesting. Oak trees are very hardy, as evidenced by your trees having leaves while the snow is falling! :c3:

Snow and cold...brrr. I thought e were the only ones so lucky. Yesterday was -24C (11F) and we go 5" of snow. We seldom see green plants with snow on them, very nice image.. well done

Thanks Kerry! Topaz Adjust brought out the details in the snow and leaves. It was melting too.

Thanks Paul. I'm glad it doesn't get that cold here except on very rare occasions. It was just 31 - 32 degrees during most of the snowfall but when I made that one it was above freezing. It stopped around 11:30 AM and by 2 PM it was 90% gone and we had blue sky! It was pretty while it lasted.

Very nice -- foreground, background, and snow. The color combination works well, and you did a good job retaining detail in the snow. I always like seeing green plants holding their own in the snow.

I love the detail of the foreground and the softer look of the bg. Beautiful leaves and snow--almost has a line drawing look. The warm colors of the bg with the big snowflakes set off the green and crisp Magnolia. Lovely, lovely work.

Anita has expressed it so well. I like the falling snow in the air to add textures, too.

Hi Judy...The falling snow...the wondeful texture of the snow on the green...simply a beautiful image! You might consider adding a feathered vignette
