Really like the graphic and abstract qualities of this one, Mitch. Wasn't very sure about the unbalanced vignette, but then it... and the other slight non-symmetrical elements sort of grew on me. :S3: Very cool!
Mitch ,I'm not sure if I love it or am not all that moved by it ... I will say I viewed it for a good few minutes ,So it held my interest. My eye moved around the photo and did not move off the page . So that to me says the art works . I think what bugs me is the sharp transition of color ...I relate it to artifacts in my mind ,even though it is not .
But like Steve said ,It Grows on you .
A long time ago, I was told that an image holds ones attention longer is there's something in it that takes the eyes in a circle. This is probably a good example of that. The elliptical interface between the orange and blue effectively leads the eyes around the image. The sun and its reflection probably helps, too.
Mitch, it reminds me of the inside of a abalone shell:S3: Nice colors.
