I'm nearing the home stretch on filtering through my Bosque images. This day was the best as far as action went. We had geese blastoffs, blackbird blastoffs, you name it. There were yellow-headed blackbirds as well as red-winged blackbirds in this group. This was a pan blur.
Thanks for looking.:S3:

You guys were really lucky with all those blast-offs. Love the swoops of the black wings and the flashes of red and yellow.

Cheryl, this is a lovely blur. The bg layers work very nice with the blast. Beautiful colors and those red splashes stands out nicely.

I really like the composition of this. There are two things that weren't obvious right away -- at least I wasn't conscious of them -- that probably help to make the image appealing. The upper edge of the blastoff follows the profile of the mountains fairly closely. In addition, the density/blur of the flock diminishes toward the right edge, so, instead of leading the eye out of the image, it allows the viewer's attention to drop down to the lighter area in the lower right, where the shape points back to the left.

Cheryl, I love the detail you got in some of the birds. Great looking flow and the mountains in the BG really makes this special- great work!
