I like the simplicity, but it's interrupted by my wanting to see at least a hint of the rest of the outline. (I added the stroke because my first attempt -- the gray of which looked darker, here, than in Photoshop -- blended right into thee background.)
Nancy, very simply cool!!! Great OOTB thinking.:S3:
Dennis, I also wanted just a hint of a belly outline and couldn't find a way that worked. Is "stroke" in PS?
Thank you, Cheryl.
I posted the original image in the Avian Forum on Friday. Not sure how to add a hot link directly to the image.
Simply wonderful! Very creative treatment.
It is. Coincidentally, I just returned from our local photo group's informal Saturday morning meeting at Barnes & Noble, where somebody asked me about it. Double click in the layer palette on the layer where you want the stroke to appear. (Don't click on the icon or the layer name. The easiest approach is to use neither an unmasked layer nor a text layer if you want the stroke around the edge of the image.) A Layer Styles window will open, and Stroke is one of the main categories. Instead of aiming for the check box, click somewhere else in the rectangle containing the name and the check box. That will select it and it will reveal the sliders and other controls. Be sure you select Inside in the Position box.
Nancy, Absolutely wonderful................the framing says it all. Nice work by Dennis!
Great image. Simple, bright, eye catching. I like Dennis' version. Excellent work.
Hi Nancy, love simplicity and the PB work.
