Mitch, as much as I love the blue water at the bottom I think I'd do a substantial crop from the bottom which would eliminate most of the blues. Just my opinion - I love the subject and the stars!
Compositionally, the kingfisher is placed well horizontally. However, I agree with Cheryl about cropping from the bottom. That would do two things: place the kingfisher lower in the frame (relatively speaking), and move the horizon farther from the center. That's a gorgeous sunrise. The idea of the stars is appealing, but I think I'd tone them down a bit with a blur and/or reduction in brightness. My eyes are drawn to them instead of appreciating the rest of the image.
Stunning colors in this sunrise. This image looks like a painting to me--don't know what style, but I can imagine coming across this in a museum. It has a bit of an unreal quality to it.
Mitch....I agree with Dennis ...I would diffuse the stars a bit ....Also the light on the bird seems too bright to match the overall dark tones of the sky......Keep them coming...I enjoy your work!
