I really liked the crest on this jay and so I did more work removing bits of twigs than I usually do.

Nancy, he looks like he spent the morning with the hairdresser. I've never seen their crest so fanned out like this. Nice position in frame and good contrast with BG. I like the perch.
Nancy:
Colorful fellow with great 'do'. Background works well, nice stick cleanup.
Interesting lighting here. Almost looks like fill off of snow. Can you let us know what the lighting was like?
Just a bit tight in the frame for my tastes, but with the large trunk on the left, I can understand why.
Cheers
Randy
Nancy, sweet shot of the Guy.I like the muted tones in the BG.I also like the colors of the bird. The hairdo looks like a natural Crown and is nice too.Well framed and nicely done.TFS
Excellent image of beautiful bird.I like the composition.
Love the pose with nice hairdo, nice colors with great details, perch and BG.
Regards,
Satish.
Nancy, I like the sharp details and the pose with the raised crest. Randy makes a good point about it being a little tight.
Funny looking crest, Nancy. Love the colours.
Thank you everyone! Randy, I am traveling right now and have my original file with the date at home. You have a great eye as it could be snow. There were no leaves on the aspen. And that trunk is why I had to crop this tight.
What a nice looking jay! really nice one and with great details for 5.6. I do love the BG and pose on bird.
