Another photo of the same bird I posted a few weeks ago; relative of the Cactus Wren, the Mexican endemic Bouchard's Wren. I was thinking about leveling the vertical side of the cactus, but at the end I ended up with this alignment. I love the way how these birds feel so comfortable on these spiky cactus.:-)
Looking rather similar to what we call a Babbler over here.
This really catches my eye Lorant, super sharp and the cactus perch makes for great interest and works so nicely with the smooth green backdrop...which also looks sharp in a different way lol. Great color and light in the eye, and the stare is wonderfully intense....magic shot !

This is great. I'm glad you did not align the cactus. I love the way he is holding on with toes in the air. This a wonderful phto, love the look and the perch. Everything sharp and great background color. Thanks for introducing Mexico birds to us.

Lorant
I like the slightly tilted cactus, down the barrel stare, clean BG, sharpness and detail of spiderweb.
Because of the pose, I think the centering of the bird works well.
Cheers

I also like the slight tilt of the cactus. The wren looks a little grumpy. Nice pose, sharpness and comp with a pleasing bg.

Nice work, Lorant.

Lorant, excellent composition. The cactus adds a ton. I think if you include even more below( if you have it of course), might make it better. Great view of both eyes. Details look good.

Lorant, I adore this. But: is the bird a little oversharpened? I'm not quite sure, but it seems just a little on the crispy side on my monitor. Any ideas? Again: kudos on a lovely picture.

I do like the overall comp and the great perch especially how the feet are so carefully place around the thorns. I too feel a little oversharpened mostly on the birds face area.
