I got a few emails asking about the quality of 600 II + TC. Things have been slow here and unfortunately I don't have an exciting shot to share but here is a standard frame. It is very sharp with the TC even wide open. Unfortunately I don't have a 800 f/5.6 to compare
Arash, this is very promising. 100% RAW looks very good and your processed version is excellent on all counts. Did you also try it with 2X?

As ever, a top quality image. I take that this shot is handheld as well. If possible, please do post a shot taken with 600 II and 2x II/III.

Thanks guys, yes all of my photos are handheld.
I don't have a 2X TC it's too much focal length and not really needed for what I usually shoot plus the AF will be slow.
Doug Brown did some excellent careful test with the 2X MKIII and saw noticeable improvement with the new lens, it is now usable wide open with the 2X. check out his review.
oh and I just found a typo it should be 1.4X extender III
cheers

Hi Ari, stunning IQ, and captured in perfect light. Great low perspective, and love the walking pose with the raised foot. You have set yourself high standards to maintain. :w3

A beautiful shot and stunning IQ. The RAW IQ looks almost too good, this really seems to be a killer combination for birds. Markus

Excellent IQ, details and sharpness, Arash. Pose, light and comp are great too.

Big in the frame, but I like that when the detail and general IQ are good, light is great as well

The new 600 seems to be really great with 1.4 x TC.
