This picture was taken the other day with the Canon 7D and 70-300L and 1.4 Kenko telecoverter. I was trying the combination out all day long, and although I certainly didn't need the thing for this shot, that's the way it went. The light was pleasing to me, etc. 151mm. iso800, 1/640, f6.3. This was a snapshot that worked out nicely, I feel. I'll welcome your comments if you wish to share them. Attachment 115666

Hello Jack, You have captured a big family here...but the BG and it's reflection as FG is too strong.

Jack,
I also like the light on mom and the water. And the very proud mother with the chicks you can see with nice head angles are great. Good composition. I might try to sharpen the two chicks in the front some.
This would also be a good photo for a water colour effect - I don't know if you have tried that but this scene already looks like a painting.

Lovely family scene Jack, agree about the front birds needing a bit of sharpening, they look a bit soft and hazy

Hi folks, what appealed most was the reflection. I will take your advice and apply some sharpening to the ducks in the front. A fine idea. I focused on the mother but certainly wish I'd had time to stop down. The scene was only available to me for a brief moment. I also wish the TC wasn't on the lens, but sometimes we must take what we can get. I shall slightly sharpen the chickies at front. O yes!

Well done.

nice display of the entire family, it is always challenging to get so many birds inside the DOF. I agree with sharpening the closer chicks. you can also go for a tighter crop eliminating the vegetation the upper right to focus the viewer on the birds. TFS

Hi Jack, great gathering of a family here, and I like the various poses of the youngsters and the proud pose of the parent. I felt your image needed a CW rotation, and applied Arash's crop from the URC. I also toned down the yellow's in the BG a touch.
