Life in the fast lane

Just 3 g in weight and running on nectar and small insects this Volcano Hummingbird dodges and swerves as I try to capture the motion from a slightly different angle

Hi,

Well done for getting the bird and the flowers in focus and nice and sharp, but I would wish for a better head angle, and I find the brown oof branch behind the bird rather distracting.

Yes HA is not text book. If I had been able to stand on the other side of the bird then it probably would be better. Of course, but I would have fallen off a cliff lol
I like the shot its a different take; these guys are less than 4 " really tiny objects to capture, very fast too!
sorry Phil no HB'S in Australia though a while back there were reports of a tiny species there, wonder what became of that story.

Nicely done with the flowers at the top corner.
I wish for higher shutter speed and a little better head angle.
Without multy flash setup you need at least 1/2000 s. or shorter speed.

Nope none here sadly, probably a good thing as my wife would never see me again lol....but we certainly have a great many tiny birds smaller that these and they tend to be one of my favorite photographic subjects.
