Eastern State Penitentiary

Rate this Entry
Eastern State Penitentiary was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, today it is a large empty building filled with dilapidated cell blocks and hallways. There are plenty of different floors to explore and loads of empty cells. ESP is a great place to capture HDR images. The vaulted ceilings and many skylights add interest at every corner. There are 2 Barber chairs at the prison and they seem to be great subjects to photograph for HDR. The dramatic lighting and the crumbling walls add so much character to your images. To read more about this cool place you can follow this link.

Join John Barclay and Denise Ippolito for a full day HDR Workshop at Eastern State Penitentiary in PA. During the month of August the cool prison walls will feel like air-conditioning. We will have access to areas that are restricted to the general public. During the morning shoot we will concentrate on HDR capture as well as creating dynamic compositions to make your ESP images unique. Then we will break for a nice lunch followed by a laptop session giving insightful knowledge of Nik and Photomatix HDR software to tonemap your images. Also we will be there to help you further process them to give them a more professional look.
