James Shadle and Roman Kurywczak Present an Unique Workshop Experence! 02/26/2011

Join award winning photographers James Shadle and Roman Kurywczak (aka The Odd Couple) as they team up to offer you a truly unique photographic workshop experience!



On February 26, 2011 James and Roman will present this exciting one day workshop in Tampa, Florida.
The day will be divided into 3 individual modules or mini-workshops.

Workshop Module 1: The first workshop of the day is a hands on macro class which runs from 8am until 11am. This module will be held at Eureka Springs County Garden.

  • Here are just a few items that will be covered.


  1. Creating sharp images
  2. Seeing and creating images
  3. How to select the best aperture to realize your creative vision
  4. Squaring up your image plane with your subject
  5. How to use DOF as a creative tool
  6. Using extension tubes, bellows and other specialty equipment.

Workshop Module 2: Our second workshop of the day will run from 1 to 4pm and is all about flash. This workshop has been designed to help you understand flash photography without needing a Masters Degree in physics.
This module will also be held at Eureka Springs County Garden.

  • Here are just a few items that will be covered.


  1. Flash as main light
  2. Flash as fill light
  3. Lighting ratios
  4. Macro flash photography
  5. Better Beamer use
  6. Adding catch-light


Workshop Module 3: We will finish off the day with a night time photography session that will run from 7-10pm.

  • Here are just a few items that will be covered.


  1. Nailing night time exposures.
  2. Painting with flash and flashlights
  3. Noise and long exposures
  4. Composition
  5. Timed exposure affects
  6. Night time photography safety.
