As mentioned in an earlier thread ( http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...hoto-and-Video!) we have Membership fees that are among the lowest on the internet.

No one at BPN receives a salary or is on a payroll. We have no employees.
Our modest membership fees(only $20 US annually)are used to maintain our website. Those of you who have been around awhile have surely noticed the greatly improved reliability, speed and forum features implemented since July 2010.

Those changes were not and are not cheap. However, we made the investment for a fast, feature rich, reliable forum that our members can enjoy on several different levels.

To join, just follow this link: http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/payments.php

Here is a complete (almost:o) list of member benefits.

      The Critique

      • Critique is defined as: the art of criticism, an act of criticizing.

      • Criticism is defined as: assessment of creative work, considered judgment of or discussion about the qualities of something, especially a creative work.

      • Criticize is defined as: careful, exact evaluation and judgment.

No where is the word "negative" mentioned.

Critiquing an image is not as difficult as most people believe. It can be as easy as stating what you like or don't like about an image. Our Eager To Learn forum is not just a great place to gain confidence in post images, it is a great place to gain confidence in critiquing images as well.

Here are some suggestions that can use to make your critiques even more affective when you feel comfortable doing so.

The ETL crew and BPN are proud to announce the new Bi- Weekly ETL Lesson/ Themes. Every two weeks we will have a scheduled Lesson/Theme.

Images that are not lesson/theme based are ALWAYS allowed and participation in the lessons/themes is optional.

Please note - ETL will only be accepting nature based images, all other images can be posted in Family And Friends!

HOW THE CONTEST WORKS- Every two weeks a new Lesson/Theme will be announced. Contestants enter their image by starting their thread title with the prefix Lesson or Theme. This will help the judges decide which images are intended for the contest. At the end of the month the judges will decide their favorites and post a result thread in this Forum. The winner will receive our wildcard vote for IOTW (Image of the Week). IT IS IMPORTANT TO CRITIQUE OTHER PEOPLES' WORK AS IT WILL HELP THE JUDGES!!! ...
