These colorful relatives of the Wood Duck can be found here in my home town, hanging out with the Mallards and Coots at the local duck pond. This one was captured at the LA Arboretum, a really great place to photograph birds, flowers, trees, and landscapes.

Kerry:
Years ago, we had one of these at our local bird sanctuary, it was always a thrill to see him.
Sharp, well exposed, nice flash work, like the ripples. A bit lower would have been nice, but often not possible.
The brown/olive water goes well with the bird.

Excellent colors and detail and flash work. I love the water color and the rings going out from the duck.
