A few week's ago, we had a great spring migration of a variety of shorebirds in breeding plummage. I would lay on the top of the mudflats wearing my waders and only my upper torso and elbows got messy. In the end, it was all worth it. :bg3:

Love the low angle, gorgeous light and the colors, Mike.
The exposure and the pose are excellent too.
The reflection of the right leg seems smudged for some reason. I'd add just a tad more room above and below if possible.
Excellent image!

Mike, awesome shot. the low angle, calm water, walking pose, light, the grasses...lots of things to appreciate. yes to tad more room above.

my only complaint is that you did not post it as a 1024-pixels wide file :-)

Lovely warm golden colors in this one, sweet little bird and sweet shot overall, agree about needs a little more on the top and curious as well why the second leg is not mirrored in the water
