Hi,
Here is another picture of my buddie from the local marsh. Thought that it had somewhat of a jungle feel to it. Picture was taken here in Nanaimo B.C. about a mile from my house.

Stats: Canon 1D Mark 4, 500mm + 1.4X, ISO-800, F/8 at 1/250, +.7 stops

Thanks for looking,

Steve

I agree that the oof leaves add a " jungle" feel to the image, a more natural shot, frankly I get a bit bored with the usual "bird on a stick " images with no features except the main subject. This is one nice looking bird, such great colors, great eye contact and angle to camera, love the fine detail !

Hi Steve,
I do love the colors, the detail is also very good, I do like the leaves, but would clone the one on the bird head.

Hi Humberto,
Thanks for the suggestion. Never noticed that when I went to post it. Here is a version with the leaf separated from the head and I agree that it does look better.

Beautiful bird, captured with nice light and exquisite detail. Repost helps. (I might have also taken out the white streak below the branch.) Very nicely done; would love to see this guy some day.

Beautiful blushing bird, and yes it does have a jungle / rainforest feel to the image. I'd actually refer that whole leaf at top gone, but I love the others. Perfect glance-back pose, perhaps a little large in the frame though.
