I know the perch is not perfect, but it is so rare for us.

great pose and good BG, maybe just a bit big in the frame

Hi Frank, I like the colours on this chat, and he has posed nicely for you. Great smooth BG, and maybe a little more room at the bottom will work. I agree the chat is sitting a touch large in the frame.

I'm not so bothered by the perch. Is the rest of it offensive? I'd like to see a better balanced composition as there is alot of empty space on the left. Is it a big crop? The bird looks nicely exposed and quite sharp, an image worth modifying until it really pops!

Hi Frank,

Nice detail, HA and BG, agree with Arash and Stuard, I don't mind the empty space since the bits is looking in that direction.

The only improvement I could mention would be to give him more of a perch, but I suspect there is a reason for the severe cut of ? otherwise excellent shot

I rather like the perch myself, it has interesting texture, in fact I would prefer a little more of it showing by cropping to suit and having a little more on the bottom, I find this a splendid picture in all aspects and I'm a stickler for fine detail which shows off nicely being largish in the frame. Congrats on such a fine image of what would seem a rare bird

Very nice capture of the chat excellent detail. I too would reduce the crop and if the perch is too massive I would chop it down to size with a little photoshop.

For me 1/2 inch less of the post would be perfect, ie between the two you have posted

Excellent exposure, bird angle, comp and bg. I prefer the repost where the space is a balanced nicely.
