Another Burrowing Owl shot from my last trip to Florida. I actually cropped this into a portrait shot (envisioned this shot when I was framing it) due to the perch he/she was on. I chose to leave some of the OOF parts of the owl at the bottom because I liked the effect of the owl lunging towards. Anyhow, this was taken just before sunset. Thanks for looking and C &C always welcome.

Excellent portrait with nice lights and composition. Loved the details.Wish you would have taken at f8 or more.

Those eyes are captivating, very clear and bright, a slightly deeper dof { smaller aperture } would of sharpened the breast feathers a little more, but the eyes are really the important draw card and they are perfect

Very sharp face and nice flash use, agree with more dof.

Quite the stare! Nice light, and processing. I'm torn on the crop though, I kinda want to see more at bottom, or trimmed to about about half the space above.

Hi Josh, excellent detail on the face, sharp, and just love those eyes and the direct eye contact. Im with Dan, in this, I would go for a simple head portrait shot.

Beautiful portrait Josh. I would leave the bottom part out and show the head, neck and shoulders only, if it were mine.
