This is the third image from my last outing to this stretch of beach it turn out to be a very productive morning.

1D MKIII, 17-40 f/4 at 17mm, 15s at f/16 (I am really liking the effect of dragging the shutter on my ocean images), Manual Mode, Evaluative Metered, ISO 100, Raw, warming polarizer and 2 stop hard edge Grad

Hi Don - You've worked this spot well. On this one I find the sort of line of clouds/mist a bit in front of the other clouds to be distracting and breaking the image so to speak. I think the rocks and the water are what are interesting here and might even consider cropping at the horizon (a scroll crop there looked good).

TFS,
Rachel

Good effect. It could do with a brightness contrast adjustment to add drama. Bightness -50 and contrast +50 looked better to my eyes.

You worked this spot well, Don!
IQ on this one is the best of the 3 for me, not sure if you changed your workflow a bit?
I like the comp as is, the clouds are a nice touch. Maybe increase midtone contrast in the image and also add some saturation to the clouds/sky?
