Hey Carel,
Excelent light and BG. While the wing position isn't my favorite it shows the body of the DF well although I do wish the near wing didn't obscure the body as much. A contrast boost would eliminate that in all likelyhood. Still .....very nicely done.

Very nice capture of what looks like quite a fresh specimen! I'm not too fond of the centered position. There is a bit much empty space to the left. BG looks fabulous, by the way.

Very nice shot, i like the sideways view, it makes a change from the standard back view. I agree a little too much space on the left.

Hi Carel. Very nice light and excellent overall sharpness plus a clean background. The wing position does not bother me. If this was mine, I'd probably crop about half of the empty space on the left. This is very well done!

This further cut so there is less space for the dragonfly.
and thorax more contrast and given some extra sharpened
Better ?

Hi Carel, I would keep a little more room below (dragonfly is now a little too close to the edge of the frame). I would have cropped the original image from the UL corner. I liked contrast and sharpness on the dragonfly on the original post. I think this one look a little unnatural.

Carel, this angle looks good and it's always nice to see a dragon perched on something with color. I agree with cropping some from the left but I'd leave the other 3 sides alone. Instead of boosting the contrast, you might want to try a round of High Pass sharpening.
