This was taken at a setup in my backyard. A strong wind was coming off the lake so I had to use a sturdy perch. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

What an unusual pose. He looks like he was holding on for dear life against the wind. Good that you got the head and upper body in focus as the f stop wouldn't allow for the whole bird and amazingly sharp for 1/200th.

Beautiful Jim. The pose and sharpness are great, love the wind blown look. I like the old worn out perch and the BG is excellent.

Great BG and perch. I like the soft light. Definitely seems to be hanging on the face of that wind. Super sharpness on the eye and bill.

Jim, great 3d look to this. The wind blown feathers, perch and IQ are really good.
One of your best!

Hi Jim, I like the various colours on this fellow, they go well together. Sharp where it counts. Lots of character on the perch, and your BG works well.

Very cool, I love the upswept feathers on the upper back. Beautiful BG, and an apt perch. Are these guys attracted with halved oranges?

Super - have seen a few of these but no shots like thi; I see em high up lol
and they seem to be difficult to catch in the open. Ruffled feathers a big plus of course
great bg as expected from you, and as been said super sharp on head and eye

Thanks everyone for the comments. Daniel I am using an Oriole feeder with a 1/5th sugar and 4/5ths water. They would be attracted to oranges if I used them as well.

Great look back pose this guy gave you Jim! I like the ruffled up feather effect from the wind.
