I was shocked to see these guys this morning at Ridgefield NWR, Washington state.
The same Owlets I took photos of in the tree nest a couple of months back. I couldn't believe they
were in the same area in the Open with the sun at my back!
The scream you night have heard an hour ago was me when I realized I clipped the tail!
I took this and then one of them flew, so it was the only opportunity to get both together.
Of course it turned and flew the wrong direction to get a good shot!

Sorry about the clipped tail Dan, still a good shot with a nice perch and love those big yellow eyes.

A couple of great characters indeed, Owls are fascinating, and I'm only just starting to go looking for some myself...think I need a lot more luck though

Sweet as ever with a nice mossy perch. Great detail on the chicks too.

Lovely capture of these enchanting owls, Dan . I love the intense staring eyes, the perch and the rare opportunity of getting both together.
