Alan, I've been trying to get good images of Verdin for ages now. The little dudes never seem to want to come out from under the brush. This one works well. You show the yellow and that splash of red beautifully and it is complimented by the colors on the flower. Is the bird a touch oversharpened? The BG is nicely blurred. TFS

The bird does seem oversharpened. Or is it too bright?

Ian, I'm glad you brought that up. I just started working in CS6 and the same unsharp mask settings seem to sharpen more in CS6. Anyone else find this?

Nice pose and perch Alan but as noted something went wrong with the IQ I think you need to reprocess.

You need to be careful with CS6. What method are using for downsizing? If you use "Bicubic automatic" instead of "Bicubic" it ruins your photo. By default it does the former. So far I am not seeing anything in CS6 that I can't do in CS5, looks like most of the new features/improvements are for video and 3D. I'm not upgrading.

Lovley colours and setting - I like how the bird sits in the space were the petals and other things are not. Does look a little oversharpened.

Fantastic image Alan. I do, however, agree with the others that the bird looks strangely oversharpened. The flower looks perfect, though.

I was just about to buy CS6 (I get the substantial educator discount). Maybe I'll read some more first.

Lovely image. Agree with sharpening issue already mentioned.
What makes this image for me is the matching red and yellow in the flower and feathers.

Great perch and BG. Like the incl of the flower but I have to say the IQ is not up to your usual high standards. I think it also looks a over sharpened which is probably affecting the IQ.

The great looking flowere and the nice looking bird make a perfect composition, Alan.

Something wrong with the face of this stunning bird. I agree that PS6 is a bit different than PS5. Love the BG and plant where the bird is on.

Excellent composition to include the plant and lovely BG. Agree with above comments on sharpening.
