Dug this one up from the 2010 Kgalagadi archives.
Black-backed jackals always provide some form of entertainment, whether it's sneaky behaviour, a quirky pose, a quizzical look or just downright manginess...:bg3:

Nice simple comp in some good, warm light. You'd think he'd pick a more secluded spot to take a rest with so many other things around that could eat you.

Morkel,
This one looks very happy and content, Jackals are always a good subject and this one is no exception.
Nice detail in difficult light.

Morkel - a nice look at one of these (and it looks like he also had a nice look at you :S3:). The pano crop works well here.

Hi Morkel, certainly a contented jackal.
I think adding some more in Curves, say output to 120 just gives it a bit more oomph, plus have you tried a crop with more above and slightly less to the LHS, however, I can see why you chose the 'pano', just a thought.

Hi Mork, good eye contact, and captured nicely in the open. Colours look good, fur has detail, and I like your choice of comp as is.

Hi Morkel,
what else to say something different from the others? No !
I just like this image of the jackal. Well done.
Cheers Andreas

Thanks for your comments, guys.
Steve - please elaborate on the "output 120" part? Do you mean I must place the middle point at 120? :e3
