This Red Shouldered Hawk was captured today while I was photographing its baby while standing on an 8 ft ladder with the camera on a sand bag. There are two of the adults and you always need to know where thy are and secure your gear on the ladder just in case you get attacked from behind and forget your holding $11,000 worth of gear that doesn't bounce. I did remove the power lines in the photo. R J Wiley

Great shot. I love the colors - definitely a red shouldered hawk. Wish the head were turned a bit more so I could see the left eye more clearly. I sharpened the midtones some more to try and bring out more of the details.

Love the wings-down pose and the sharpnesson the eye. As far as the sharpened re-post, I would prefer something in between. I did get the new Drypods and should get to try them out next week. Thanks!

Love the colors and details and of course the wing down position, excellent Rod.

The repost is way oversharpened for me.

One thing that would really help would be to recrop to add more BG in front of the bird as less in back. Also as a personal pref I would take out a little of the electric blue out of the sky.

Robert I moved the Hawk back alittle and changed the sky as well as repaired the left eye. Thanks guys for all your advise. Rod

The repost looks much better, maybe a slightly wider crop.
