With the head against the rock (?) and the dark water, I think that lightening the face would be a huge improvement. Love the silky water.

Love it. Great pose, and that flowing water is awesome. One of the better Dipper pics I've seen. Top stuff.

Pose, angle and soft water are great, I agree regarding lightening the face a bit.

It's perfect and it wouldn't be too hard to lighten the face. How wonderful!

Love the unusual angle of shot. The rock on the BG breaks a little bit the nice composition, but not too distracting. I'm not an expert of post-processing, but a darker foreground and a brighter bird's head would improve significantly this image.

thanks for you comments, I'll try to lighten the head a bit.
in fact the "rock" in the background is a zinc side of the waterfall (not natural)

Well, it is good that it looks like a rock!

I lightened the head using Robert O'Toole's APTATS/Quick Masking tricks to make the selection (and then a Curves ADJ via Cntrl M) and did a bit of eye doctor magic...
