Shorebirding on Long Island this weekend was incredible. Here's a ruddy turnstone with a horseshoe crab egg.

Hi Grace, good detail and colours captured, and overall nice and sharp. I like the leaning pose, and although I would like to see him moved up in the frame a touch, I can see you have OOF FG to deal with at the bottom.

nice detail, good exposure, like the colors, would have been better with a lower angle, but still a nice image.

Nice soft light quality. Excellent details on the bird/sand. Breeding plumage is gorgeous.
I agree that placing the subject a bit higher in the frame would improve the composition.
I don't agree that a lower shooting angle in this scenario would be better. I like all the
texture and detail in the sand that your elevated angle provided.

Excellent image Grace! I like the IQ, pose, exposure and details. I think the shooting angle is perfect. I would like to see him a little higher in the frame as well.

Another vote for higher in the frame. Lovely IQ, pose and feeding behavior, Grace. I am envious of your proximity to the shore there!
