20% crop, auto ISO, evening light. I lightened some of the darker areas and the eye, NR on the sky and a little on the bird. I am happy with this at iso 1400!

Lovely shot, I like the light and the pose. you have excellent exposure and detail, couldn't ask for much more really (would have been nice to see the rat facing us:c3:)

I think you did well with your D300 at that ISO. I generally am unhappy above 800 with mine.

Prey item is great, wing spread nice, like the alula showing so well.

Angle in frame nice, and like the directional lighting giving a sense of early or late in the day.

Hi Dan, good wing spread and fanned tail in this, and the light shows up the eye nicely with the angled head. Always good to see a raptor with their catch, and I would maybe move the kite a touch down in the frame.

iso1400 whit d300s!?!? wow, impressive.... my d300s over iso800 is very poor.....
the shot is stunning, great white gesture, colors, light, details and moment catched!

Nice light and wingspread. I'd prefer a better HA, but I could live with this one. I could also see a crop from below. Prey item is a nice bonus!
