Andreas,
What an amazing capture (right place right time:w3)
I have heard them mate before it certainly is amazingly loud!
This is in all honesty probably the best tortoise image I have ever seen:cheers::cheers::cheers:
Nothing I can criticise in any way

Andreas I wish we had a 'Caption' area in the Forum, this would be fun, nice one. :S3:

Very nice detail and good colors. If I was to be slightly critical I would have to say I would have tried to move a bit to the right (If possible). You did well with the angle of the light.

Love the low angle and behaviour - yes they are loud!
I think this is one of the best tortoise images around, but I have to agree with Dumay - was there any way to get more to the right so the "head angle" on the male could be better? :e3

Hello Morkel and Dumay
i could have chosen a wider view, but by the time i took this picture 2005,i think i was looking differently to images.I just wanted everything as tight as possible in the frame.
A different angle was not really possible, because i was more than happy not to flip the car i was sitting in.
Hope this answers your thoughts and suggestions.
Cheers Andreas
