Eye-catching image, Dumay. Love the sliver of in focus sand and the color palette. The blue in the sky, the blue in the shells, the browns in the gull and in the shells, all are in perfect harmony.

Really like the gull with the lifted foot and the relative position of the mussel shells. Not sure about the narrow strip of in-focus ground; or more to the point, the way the sand/earth is very uniform. Is this something you have achieved in the camera through the low angle or adding blur/smoothing in PP?

Thanks for sharing,

Gerald

Hi Mate, love the inquisitive pose of the gull on the shells, great DOF, and I really like the light in this. The raised foot puts this over the top.

Beautiful quality to this image, a real gem of a shot. I like the pose and the mussel shells and the small ridge of sand.

Looks great. I love the curious demeanour of the gull, and the raised foot adds alot.

Thanks for all the comments & kind words. Gerald, all of this is as shot no blurring was done at all. I think there was a slight rise on the beach thats what made it strip like and thats probably why the left foot is not completely visible.

Cropped a bit tight for me. That low angle is KILLER! Nice use of f/8 as well.
